Four Suspects Involved in Maulana Idris Killing; Attackers Conducted Surveillance, Say Investigators

Peshawar: Investigations are underway into the killing of prominent religious scholar, former provincial assembly member, and Sheikh-ul-Hadith, Maulana Muhammad Idris Tarangzai, in Charsadda.
According to the التحقيقاتی team, a 9mm pistol was used in the attack, and a total of four افراد were involved. Officials stated that armed assailants opened fire on Maulana Idris, leading to his martyrdom.
Investigators revealed that two suspects conducted reconnaissance (surveillance) prior to the attack, while others facilitated the operation. The distance between Maulana Idris’s home and the madrassa was approximately two kilometers, and the attackers reportedly carried out surveillance near a graveyard along the route.
The main attacker has been identified, and statements of eyewitnesses have been recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.
It is worth noting that Maulana Muhammad Idris Tarangzai was martyred in a targeted attack a day earlier in the Utmanzai area of Charsadda district. Two police personnel were also injured in the incident.
Maulana Idris was on his way to Darul Uloom Utmanzai to deliver a Hadith lecture when the attack occurred. A three-member committee has been formed to further investigate the case.
