Pakistan’s Trade Deficit Widens by Over 20% in First 10 Months of FY2025-26

Pakistan’s trade deficit has increased significantly during the first 10 months (July–April) of the current fiscal year 2025–26, according to official figures released in Islamabad.
The data shows that the trade deficit rose by 20.28% to $31.98 billion, compared to $24.59 billion in the same period last year.
Exports declined by 6.25%, with total shipments recorded at $25.21 billion during the period. In contrast, imports increased by 6.94%, reaching $57.19 billion.
However, some official breakdowns in the statistics indicate exports at $26.89 billion, reflecting variations in reporting across trade datasets.
The widening gap highlights continued pressure on Pakistan’s external account amid rising imports and declining export performance in Pakistan.
