Very Positive” Talks Underway with Iran, Announces Plan to Restore Shipping in Strait of Hormuz

Donald Trump has said that “very positive” discussions are ongoing with Iran, suggesting the talks could lead to favorable outcomes for all parties involved.

In a message posted on social media, Trump stated that his representatives are engaged in constructive negotiations with Iranian officials, adding that the dialogue may prove beneficial on a global scale.

The U.S. president also announced that, starting Monday, efforts will begin to restore safe maritime movement through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global shipping route.

According to Trump, several countries have requested U.S. assistance in evacuating their vessels currently stranded in the waterway. He said these ships belong to nations not involved in the recent Middle East tensions and have been unable to depart due to security concerns.

Under an initiative dubbed “Project Freedom,” U.S. authorities will work to facilitate the safe passage of these ships and their crews. Trump emphasized that many vessels are facing shortages of food and essential supplies, making the operation a humanitarian priority.

He added that the move could help build goodwill among parties in the region. However, Trump warned that any interference with the operation would be met with a strong response.
