Jimmy Kimmel Faces Backlash Over Joke About Melania Trump, Sparks Political and Media Controversy

American comedian Jimmy Kimmel has come under fire after making a joke about First Lady Melania Trump, referring to her as a “future widow” in a satirical comment that quickly sparked outrage.
According to international media reports, the joke prompted strong reactions from U.S. President Donald Trump and Melania Trump. The White House has reportedly called for Kimmel’s dismissal, escalating the situation into a wider political and media controversy.
The incident has also drawn regulatory attention, with the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) launching an investigation into Disney, the parent company of the broadcaster airing Kimmel’s show. Reports suggest that Disney’s broadcasting license could also face scrutiny.
Kimmel later clarified that his remark was intended as light-hearted satire related to the couple’s age difference, which he said was about 23 years.
Meanwhile, actor George Clooney has publicly defended Kimmel, stating that he is a comedian and that attempts to punish him for a joke are “dangerous.”
Disney, on its part, has reportedly decided to respond legally to the FCC inquiry as the controversy continues to develop.
