PKMAP Pays Tribute on 26th Death Anniversary of Party Martyrs, Hails Their Struggle and Sacrifices

Quetta – The Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has paid rich tribute to its martyrs on the occasion of the 26th death anniversary of party workers martyred on April 27, 2000 in Pashtunabad, including Sagi Jan, Wazir Aka, Pirwan, and Amanullah.
In a provincial press release, the party said it honors the struggle and sacrifices of its workers and reiterated that PkMAP and its leadership have always played a frontline role in democratic movements in the country without hesitating to offer any sacrifice for democratic principles.
The statement said that the party’s political and democratic stance has now become part of the narrative of major democratic forces in the country. It added that under the leadership of party chairman and National Assembly opposition leader Mahmood Khan Achakzai, and as part of the broader opposition alliance Tehreek-e-Tahafuz-e-Aain Pakistan, the party is actively struggling for constitutional supremacy, parliamentary sovereignty, democratic governance, and an end to military interference in politics, along with the establishment of a true federation based on equality among nations.
The statement highlighted that Khan Shaheed Abdul Samad Khan Achakzai was sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment during General Ayub Khan’s regime for his struggle for “one man, one vote” and constitutional rights, and that he completed his sentence and was later released.
It further stated that his political and democratic vision continues to be carried forward by the party, despite repeated “attacks” on its ideology and workers by authoritarian forces. The party referred to incidents of violence on 7 October 1983, 11 October 1991, and 27 April 2000 as examples of sacrifices made in continuation of its political struggle.
The statement added that due to failure in implementing the party’s democratic vision, the country is currently facing multiple crises, political instability, and growing challenges, including international isolation.
PkMAP emphasized that the solution to national crises lies in strict adherence to the Constitution, which clearly defines the powers of state institutions. It stressed that only when all institutions operate within their constitutional limits can the country overcome its problems.
The party concluded by paying tribute to its martyrs and instructed workers to further strengthen the struggle to fulfill their political and national mission, expand the party’s message to the public, and organize people at the grassroots level.
