Wave of Violence and Accidents in Balochistan: Bomb Attack on DC Office, Railway Track Blown Up; Two Killed in Firing, Kidnapped Women Rescued, Journalist Injured in Road Accident

Quetta: A series of violent incidents, including terrorism, targeted killings, and road accidents, were reported across different districts of Balochistan, leaving two people dead and several others injured, including a senior journalist. Meanwhile, security forces also successfully recovered two kidnapped women in a separate operation.
In Kachhi district’s Dhadar area, unknown assailants targeted the Deputy Commissioner’s office with a hand grenade late last night. The explosive device detonated with a loud blast; however, no casualties were reported. The attackers managed to escape despite police retaliation.
In another incident the same night, an explosive device destroyed a portion of the railway track in Dungra area of Dhadar, damaging about two feet of the track and suspending train operations. Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation, while railway authorities began repair work. Security across the district has been placed on high alert.
In Quetta, unidentified armed men shot dead Hifazatullah Khosa, a resident of Faridabad Kandi, Tehsil Rindabad, Suhbatpur. Provincial Minister for Communications Mir Saleem Khan Khosa and other local leaders strongly condemned the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the perpetrators.
In another firing incident in Panjgur’s border town Paroom area, armed men killed Akhtar son of Mohammad Anwar, while another person, Aurangzeb son of Abdul Malik, was seriously injured and shifted to hospital in critical condition. Police have launched investigations into both cases.
Amid the violence, a positive development was reported from Bela in Lasbela district, where police successfully recovered two kidnapped women following a targeted operation on the instructions of SSP Lasbela Najibullah Pandrani. The women had been abducted from New Baloch Colony, Hub, and a case had been registered at Beroat Police Station (FIR No. 80/2026). The recovered women have been handed over to Hub Police for legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, a tragic road accident occurred in the Bolan area, where senior journalist Aazam Ulfat and another person sustained injuries. The injured journalist was immediately shifted to Trauma Center Quetta for treatment. The journalist community has expressed deep concern over the incident and prayed for his swift recovery. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
