Qatar Voices Support for Iran–US Talks, Backs Pakistan Amid Regional Tensions

DOHA: Qatar has expressed strong support for ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States, stating that the entire world is in favor of dialogue to ease tensions.
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson Majed Al-Ansari said that Qatar also stands in support of its “Pakistani brothers” during the evolving regional situation.
He noted that the continued disruption in the Strait of Hormuz has escalated the situation from a regional issue into a broader international crisis.
Al-Ansari said that Doha remains in close contact with Islamabad and all relevant parties, including Washington, regarding the negotiations, adding that Qatar does not wish to speculate on the failure of talks.
He emphasized that Pakistan shares deep historical ties with Gulf countries, and that regional states are in constant communication with various stakeholders on a daily basis.
“This is our crisis and that of our region, which is why we maintain direct engagement,” he said, stressing that resolving the Hormuz crisis is a shared responsibility and not the burden of any single country.
The spokesperson added that Qatar has consistently proven itself to be a reliable partner and will continue consultations with its allies to find a peaceful resolution.
