Doctor Shot Dead Near Sharea Faisal Metro Pole in Karachi; Trader Injured in Separate Firing Incident

KARACHI: A doctor was shot dead in a firing incident near Metro Pole Hotel on Sharea Faisal in Karachi, police said on Tuesday.
According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) South, the deceased identified as Dr Sarang was travelling in a rickshaw along with his wife when armed assailants targeted him. He added that the attackers were following the victim in a car.
Police said the victim was associated with a private hospital near Gulistan-e-Johar Chowrangi.
In a separate incident in New Karachi’s Sector 11-B, a trader was injured in a firing attack. Authorities confirmed that the injured trader had previously received a extortion threat note.
Police have launched investigations into both incidents to determine the motives and identify the suspects involved.
