Use of GPS-Based Equipment, Drones, and Automated Technology to Boost Crop Yields

Islamabad: The process of improving agricultural production through modern technology is underway with the support of the SFIC. A new initiative, “Precision Agriculture,” has been launched to enhance agricultural practices aimed at achieving climatic sustainability. The program’s implementation began at the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, through a central “Knowledge Management” system.
This environmental project will be implemented with the assistance of the “Green Climate Fund” (GCF), established under the United Nations’ Climate Framework.
Initially, the focus will be on reducing the impacts of climate change through advanced agricultural methods in Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan. The use of GPS-based equipment, drones, and automated technology will make it possible to significantly increase crop yields.
