Renovation Enhances Beauty of Holy Kaaba Walls at Masjid al-Haram

Islamabad: The renovation and maintenance work of the Kaaba at Masjid al-Haram has been completed, revealing the striking beauty of its walls and surroundings.
As part of the process, the Kiswah was raised approximately three meters and the lower portion of the structure was covered with white protective fabric on all sides.
The section of the wall visible in images is the lower part of the Kaaba, known as the Shadhrawan, which is constructed from black stones. The golden lines seen between the stones are not made of gold but consist of a special type of grout or metallic decorative framework used to bind the stones together, often given a golden finish.
During cleaning and restoration, thick white cushions placed along the walls serve as protective measures to prevent damage to both the structure and the workers involved in the process.
