Trump Orders Strait of Hormuz Blockade After Islamabad Talks Hit Nuclear Deadlock

Islamabad: U.S. President Donald Trump has announced a major escalation following high-level negotiations between the United States and Iran held in Islamabad, stating that while significant progress was made on multiple issues, talks ultimately stalled over Iran’s nuclear program.

According to Trump, the 20-hour مذاکرات resulted in agreement on several key points, but Iran maintained a firm stance on its nuclear ambitions, preventing a final deal. The U.S. delegation—including J. D. Vance, Steve Witkoff, and Jared Kushner—briefed the president, confirming that despite constructive dialogue, Tehran refused to abandon its nuclear objectives.

Reaffirming Washington’s position, Trump stated that the United States would not allow Iran to acquire nuclear weapons under any circumstances.

Trump also praised Pakistan’s leadership for hosting the مذاکرات, commending Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Asim Munir for what he described as “exceptional leadership” and diplomatic facilitation.

In a dramatic move following the deadlock, Trump ordered the U.S. Navy to impose an immediate blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical global oil transit route. He issued a stern warning that any attacks on American vessels or payments to Iran for passage would be met with force.

Trump further stated that operations to neutralize naval mines would begin and that allied nations would be invited to participate in the blockade effort, signaling a potentially significant escalation in regional tensions.
