Major Syed Moez Abbas Awarded Tamgha-e-Basalat for Bravery and Sacrifice

Islamabad: The Pakistan Army has posthumously awarded Major Syed Moez Abbas the prestigious Tamgha-e-Basalat in recognition of his exceptional courage, professionalism, and ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
Major Moez Abbas embraced martyrdom on June 24, 2025, during an intelligence-based operation in the Sararogha area of South Waziristan. Leading from the front, he displayed remarkable bravery while engaging terrorists, successfully neutralizing several militants before laying down his life for the country.
Hailing from Chakwal district, Major Moez Abbas was a highly trained officer of the Special Services Group (SSG). Throughout his career, he participated in numerous critical and sensitive operations, consistently demonstrating extraordinary valor.
His name also surfaced in connection with the 2019 incident involving captured Indian pilot Abhinandan Varthaman, although no official details were released regarding his role, and media reports only speculated on his involvement.
Senior officials of the Pakistan Armed Forces paid tribute to the fallen officer, stating that the sacrifices of brave soldiers like Major Moez Abbas are a source of national pride and will always be remembered.
