ADB Unveils 5-Year Economic Plan for Pakistan Focused on Sustainable Growth

Islamabad: In a positive development for Pakistan’s economy, the Asian Development Bank has announced a new five-year Country Partnership Strategy for 2026–2030 aimed at promoting sustainable and inclusive growth.

According to the report, the strategy emphasizes private sector-led economic development, with key targets including boosting employment, increasing investment, and expanding exports. The plan also prioritizes women’s economic inclusion and broader social development.

The ADB’s framework highlights measures to address climate change and strengthen resilience against natural disasters, reflecting Pakistan’s vulnerability to environmental challenges.

Under the plan, significant investments will be directed toward critical sectors such as energy, agriculture, and infrastructure to support long-term economic stability.

The bank also reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening cooperation with Pakistan, aiming to help the country achieve steady and sustainable economic progress over the next five years.
