Pakistan Day Parade Cancelled, PM Announces Simple Observance on March 23

Islamabad: Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the traditional Pakistan Day parade and related ceremonies scheduled for March 23 will not be held this year.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the decision has been taken as part of austerity measures. Instead of large-scale events, Pakistan Day will be observed with simple and dignified flag-hoisting ceremonies.
The statement emphasized that the spirit and significance of Pakistan Day will be upheld while ensuring implementation of broader cost-cutting policies. All ministries, divisions, and government departments have been directed to mark the day in a modest yet respectful manner.
Officials further stated that despite limited celebrations, efforts will be made to highlight the importance of the day and its core message across the country.
