Balochistan Food Authority Cracks Down: Unhealthy Ice Cream Unit Sealed in Quetta, 17 Outlets Fined

Quetta: The Balochistan Food Authority (BFA) has intensified actions against substandard and harmful food products across the province. During recent operations in Panjgur, Quetta, and Loralai, 17 outlets were fined, while an illegal ice cream processing unit in Quetta’s Sariab area was sealed.
Authorities discovered that the unit was producing ice cream and ice lollies using unhygienic ingredients, harmful colors, and mislabeled products without proper licensing. Large quantities of contaminated stock were destroyed, and packaging materials were confiscated.
BFA Director General Habibullah Khan stated that no leniency will be shown to those endangering children’s health, emphasizing the strict enforcement of food safety laws across all food businesses without discrimination.
He urged the public to report the sale of substandard food items immediately so that prompt legal action can be taken against products that could cause throat infections and other health hazards.
