Terrorists Attack Police Posts in Peshawar; City Placed on High Alert

In Peshawar, militants targeted police posts at two separate locations, triggering gunfire and explosions across the city.

According to police, attackers launched a sudden assault on the Sakhi Pul post in the Nasir Bagh area with heavy weapons. A police spokesperson said that in response, the militants fired rockets but fled under the cover of darkness following a swift counteraction by law enforcement.

Meanwhile, an attack attempt on the Pasni police post within the jurisdiction of Matani Police Station was foiled after officers detected suspicious movements and took preemptive action to stop the assailants.

CCPO Mian Saeed announced citywide high alert following the incidents, emphasizing that the police are fully prepared to respond to any attack and that the safety of citizens remains the top priority.

Authorities have launched search operations in the affected areas, with strict monitoring of all entry and exit routes. Police have vowed to thwart every attempt to disrupt law and order in the city.
