eople in Balochistan Face Soaring Prices and Economic Hardship During Ramadan, Government Relief Limited to Statements, Says Maulana Abdul Wasay

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) – Maulana Abdul Wasay, the Amir of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam, stated that even during the holy month of Ramadan, the people of Balochistan are grappling with severe inflation, unemployment, and economic instability, highlighting the provincial government’s poor governance.

He said that prices of essential commodities have spiraled out of control and that government relief measures appear only on paper, limited to statements and symbolic gestures rather than practical support.

Maulana Abdul Wasay added that the closure of border trade has pushed thousands of families into economic distress and left the youth deeply disheartened. He criticized the political setup established without considering public mandate, noting that its consequences are now visible in the province’s weak governance and mounting crises.
