Brazilian Footballer Kathleen Souza Converts to Islam

Kathleen Souza, the Brazilian women’s footballer currently playing for Al-Nassr Women Football Club, has embraced Islam, drawing significant attention on social media.

According to international news agencies, Al-Nassr officially announced Kathleen Souza’s conversion and offered prayers for her steadfastness and inner peace. Following her conversion, Souza performed Umrah at Masjid al-Haram, sharing photos on Instagram and stating that she was seeking the right path and a better version of herself.

Born in São Vicente, São Paulo, Brazil, 29-year-old Souza plays as a central back. She previously represented Santos FC Women and also played for the University of Louisville and the University of Central Florida in the United States.

In August 2024, she joined Al-Nassr Women on a two-season contract and was recently awarded the club’s Player of the Month honor. Social media users have lauded her decision as an important personal milestone, sending their best wishes for her future.
