Usman Tariq Is Our Trump Card, Says Pakistan T20 Captain Salman Ali Agha Ahead of India Clash

Colombo: Pakistan T20 captain Salman Ali Agha has called spinner Usman Tariq the team’s “trump card” ahead of the crucial match against India, saying a full strategy has been prepared for the entire Indian squad.

Speaking at a press conference in Colombo, Salman Ali Agha emphasized that all players are equally important, but Usman Tariq has emerged as a key asset for the team. He addressed ongoing discussions about Tariq’s bowling action, noting that the spinner has been cleared twice and that repeated questions about his action have no impact on him.

The captain said the team is fully prepared for tomorrow’s high-stakes match and is well-adapted to local conditions, with a thorough understanding of the pitch. He added that strategies have also been devised in case of rain or a reduced-overs scenario.

Salman Ali Agha confirmed that all 15 squad members are vital, and the final playing XI will be decided based on conditions. He praised Babar Azam for his current form, expressing confidence that he will perform well in the next match.

When asked about Pakistan’s historical World Cup record against India, the captain acknowledged it has not been strong but said the team has learned from past experiences and aims to deliver improved performance. He reiterated that detailed planning has been completed for India’s entire playing XI.

“Captaincy comes with added responsibility and pressure, as you represent your country and everyone’s eyes are on you,” he said, affirming the team’s commitment to performing at its best on the field.
