Maulana Fazlur Rehman Calls for Full Medical Facilities for Imran Khan in Jail

Islamabad (Qudrat Roznama) – JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has stated that humanitarian principles and Eastern traditions require that former Prime Minister Imran Khan be provided complete medical facilities in jail and be allowed examination by a doctor of his choice.

In his statement, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that as the leader of a major political party, Imran Khan deserves access to proper healthcare while in custody. He emphasized that collective social stability also demands that political differences should not be escalated to the level of hostility or conflict that harms public life and social order. “Politics is not life itself but a reflection of life. It is not our ultimate goal; rather, it is a means to achieve overall human welfare,” he remarked.

The JUI-F chief also expressed serious concern over rising insecurity in border provinces, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said recent terrorist attacks on police forces, especially in Dera Ismail Khan, have shaken society. Referring to the latest attack on Pinyala police, he noted that it was the second deadly incident in recent weeks, in which brave police officer Faheem Mumtaz and three other personnel were martyred.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman demanded that the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa order an inquiry into the Pinyala incident. He questioned how terrorists managed to seize the official SMG of SHO Faheem Mumtaz after killing him, despite the presence of a heavy CTD police contingent. He also asked why Inspector Faheem Mumtaz was not provided an armored vehicle for operations against highly trained militants in difficult mountainous terrain.
