PM Shehbaz Sharif Says Pakistan Will Not Play India in T20 World Cup, Stresses Support for Bangladesh

Prime Minister **Shehbaz Sharif** has stated that Pakistan’s decision to **not play against India in the T20 World Cup** was made thoughtfully, emphasizing that **politics should have no place in sports**.

Speaking during a **federal cabinet meeting**, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan has taken a clear stance on the issue and that the country should **stand with Bangladesh**.

On security matters, PM Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the recent terrorist attack in Balochistan carried out by extremist groups and foreign-backed elements. He said that **Pakistan’s brave armed forces responded effectively**, killing **180 terrorists**, while **17 soldiers and 31 civilians were martyred** in the attack. He added that the entire nation stands united against terrorism and mourns the killing of workers and children.

Regarding Iran, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan has played a **brotherly role amid tensions**, with multiple meetings and calls between him, the Deputy Prime Minister, and the Field Marshal with Iranian leadership. He added that countries including **Qatar, Turkey, and Egypt** have also made efforts to mediate. The Prime Minister emphasized that Pakistan is striving for a **peaceful resolution through dialogue** and hopes to eliminate regional threats, aiming for **lasting peace in the region**.
