Medical Examination of Imran Khan’s Right Eye Confirmed by PIMS Executive Director

The medical examination of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s right eye has been confirmed by the Executive Director of Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Dr. Imran Sikandar, who shared details of the treatment.
According to Dr. Imran Sikandar, Imran Khan had complained a few days ago of reduced vision in his right eye. Following the complaint, a senior PIMS doctor conducted an eye examination at Adiala Jail. Necessary tests, including fundoscopy, measurement of intraocular pressure, and Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) of the retina, were performed.
The examination led to the diagnosis of Central Retinal Vein Occlusion in Imran Khan’s right eye. Based on the findings, the senior doctor recommended shifting him to the hospital for further treatment.
Dr. Sikandar said that on the night between Saturday and Sunday, Imran Khan was brought to PIMS for the prescribed treatment. He was informed in detail about his condition and the treatment procedure, and written consent was obtained prior to treatment.
He added that the treatment was carried out in a sterile operating theatre under strict medical supervision and was completed successfully in approximately 20 minutes. During the procedure, Imran Khan’s vital signs remained stable. He was later discharged with medical instructions, follow-up advice, and relevant documentation.
Dr. Sikandar explained that increased pressure in the veins of the right eye had affected Imran Khan’s vision. After the medical procedure, he was shifted back to jail. Subsequently, Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed that Imran Khan was in good health.
Meanwhile, PTI expressed concern over Imran Khan’s transfer to the hospital. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja stated a day earlier that the PTI founder was being denied basic human rights and was taken secretly from Adiala Jail to PIMS on Saturday evening, where he underwent eye surgery.
