Maya Khan Opens Up About Career Highs and Lows, Reveals Salary Drop from Rs25 Million to Rs4 Million
Islamabad:Renowned Pakistani actress and television host Maya Khan has recently spoken candidly about the ups and downs of her professional journey, particularly addressing her transition from earning a high salary to accepting a significantly reduced fee.
During a podcast interview, Maya Khan revealed that there was a time when she earned Rs2.5 million per month for hosting a morning show. She shared that well-known journalist Iqrar-ul-Hassan would often ask her out of curiosity about her salary during that period.
The actress disclosed that in 2020, she faced a challenging phase in her life when she had to agree to host a show for only Rs400,000. She described the moment as extremely difficult, saying it felt like a sudden fall from a great height. Maya admitted she was initially hesitant to accept the offer but eventually placed her trust in Allah and prayed for blessings in the reduced income.
She said, “This amount came to me from Allah, and He alone can turn little into abundance. If Allah wills, even thirty can become thirty crore.”
It is worth noting that Maya Khan began her acting career with PTV dramas, including *Ek Mohabbat Sau Afsanay*, but gained widespread fame through a popular morning show on Samaa TV. She made her return to television screens in 2024 with the drama *Mayi Ri* and received praise for her roles in *Kabhi Main Kabhi Tum* and *Baray Bhaiya*.
In addition to acting and hosting, Maya Khan is also a successful entrepreneur and runs her own herbal brand, further highlighting her versatility and resilience in the entertainment industry.
