Saudi Arabia Urges UAE to Immediately Halt Military and Financial Support in Yemen

**Islamabad:** Saudi Arabia has called on the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to immediately stop providing any military or financial support to any party in Yemen and to withdraw its forces from the country within 24 hours, in line with the demands of the Yemeni government.

In a statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Riyadh said that **dialogue remains the only viable solution for peace in Yemen**. The statement expressed deep concern over the UAE’s alleged pressure on Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (STC) to escalate actions, calling such moves regrettable and dangerous for Saudi national security, Yemen’s stability, and the wider region.

Saudi Arabia stated that these actions are **inconsistent with the principles of the Arab Coalition**, which was formed to support the legitimate Yemeni government. It warned that any threat to Saudi national security would be considered a **red line**, adding that the Kingdom would not hesitate to take all necessary measures to counter such risks.

The Kingdom reaffirmed its **full solidarity with Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council (PLC)** and the Yemeni government, emphasizing continued support for Yemen’s peace, stability, and sovereignty.

The Saudi statement highlighted that the southern issue in Yemen has deep historical and social dimensions and can only be resolved through a **comprehensive political process** conducted at the negotiating table. Such talks, it said, must include all Yemeni parties, including the Southern Transitional Council. Saudi Arabia again urged the UAE to comply with the Yemeni government’s demand by withdrawing its forces within 24 hours and immediately halting all military and financial assistance to any faction.

Saudi Arabia also stressed the importance of **wisdom, brotherhood, and good neighborly relations**, reaffirming its commitment to strong ties among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states.

Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that **Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad al-Alimi has announced the cancellation of the joint defense agreement with the UAE**. According to Arab media reports, Al-Alimi ordered all UAE forces present in Yemen to leave the country within 24 hours.

He further announced the imposition of a **complete air, land, and sea blockade** on all Yemeni ports and crossings for 72 hours.

Media reports indicate that these developments come amid **limited air operations carried out by the Saudi-led military coalition**, which reportedly targeted the Mukalla port in Yemen.
