Bank Manager Fired After Giving His Wife AED 100,000, Woman Refuses to Return Money

Sharjah:A bank officer in Sharjah lost his job and now faces legal action after giving his wife AED 100,000 (over 7.5 million Pakistani rupees) for just one day, which she later refused to return.

According to *Gulf News*, the bank manager, originally from the Indian state of Kerala, gave his wife the substantial sum on her request, trusting her word, without informing his colleagues or seeking approval. However, the wife later refused to return the money as promised.

After the wife’s refusal to return the funds came to light, the bank launched an investigation and dismissed the manager from his position. The husband filed a complaint against his wife in court after repeated requests for the money to be returned were rejected. The wife, on the other hand, hired legal representation.

The report further revealed that the wife had recently married the bank manager, but an investigation found that she had a history of fraudulent activities. She had previously borrowed money from multiple individuals, promising to return it after a short time but never did. Additionally, she had swindled a real estate company of AED 150,000 under the pretense of depositing it into a bank account, but failed to do so.

A representative from an organization that supports Indian expatriates in the UAE confirmed that the woman had previously committed similar frauds, borrowing money under false pretenses and not returning it.
