Railway Minister Announces Cash Reward for Police Constable Who Returned Rs3.8 Million to Passenger

Lahore: Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has announced a cash reward for Railway Police Constable Rao Sharif for setting an outstanding example of honesty and integrity.
The railway minister announced that he will personally give Rs100,000 from his own pocket to the constable as a token of appreciation.
Praising Rao Sharif, Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said that honest and dutiful individuals like him represent the true face of Pakistan Railways. He added that integrity and a strong sense of duty are the real strength of state institutions.
The minister further stated that such acts by railway police officials help strengthen public trust in government institutions.
Constable Rao Sharif had found a bag containing Rs3.8 million on a train and made sincere efforts to trace the rightful owner. The cash-filled bag belonged to a Karachi-based trader, Mohsin, and was later safely returned to him at Rohri Railway Station.
The incident has been widely appreciated as a shining example of honesty within public service.
