Cameron Green Becomes Most Expensive Overseas Player in IPL History

Lahore: Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has become the most expensive overseas player in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

During the players’ auction for IPL Season 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) secured Cameron Green after an intense bidding war with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). KKR acquired the Australian star for INR 25.20 crore, setting a new record for a foreign player in the league.

With this deal, Cameron Green surpassed the previous record held by Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 24.75 crore ahead of the 2024 season.

Cameron Green has previously represented Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL and is regarded as one of Australia’s most promising young all-rounders.
