GHQ Attack Case: Court Orders Seizure of Properties of Omar Ayub, Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gul and 15 Others

Rawalpindi: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi has declared 15 accused — including Omar Ayub, Senator Shibli Faraz, and Zartaj Gul — as proclaimed offenders and ordered the confiscation of their properties in the GHQ attack case.
According to Express News, the court was informed during the hearing that the 15 accused had already been sentenced but had failed to surrender.
The list of proclaimed offenders includes former Leader of the Opposition Omar Ayub, former Leader of the Opposition in Senate Shibli Faraz, Zartaj Gul, Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, Hassan Nawaz, Shakeel Niazi, and others.
The court directed that since the convicts had not surrendered, all their movable and immovable properties should be seized. After seizure, the revenue department has been instructed to auction the properties through open bidding.
It may be recalled that the accused were previously sentenced to 40 years imprisonment each by an ATC in Faisalabad. The order for confiscation was issued by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah.
