Rawalpindi: Sheikh Rashid, the head of Awami Muslim League, has made startling revelations regarding renowned Indian filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. A viral video on various social media platforms shows Sheikh Rashid discussing his interaction with the media.
In the video, Sheikh Rashid discloses that Mahesh Bhatt visited Lal Haveli twice from India and sought permission from him to shoot a film at the iconic location. Sheikh Rashid claims that Mahesh Bhatt expressed interest in making a film based on the story of Dhon Raj but was denied permission by Sheikh Rashid.
He further clarified that despite several documentary films being made about Lal Haveli, they were independently produced and not affiliated with the actual Lal Haveli. Sheikh Rashid also corrected claims about Lal Haveli’s size, stating it occupies only three marlas instead of the reported 19 kanals.
Additionally, Sheikh Rashid mentioned his intention to have a university built on the three marla plot of Lal Haveli after his demise.
