FIR Against Harnai Chairman and Others Is Unconstitutional; Right to Protest Cannot Be Taken Away: Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat):** The Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) has strongly condemned the “unconstitutional and unlawful” FIR registered against Harnai District Chairman Jaleel Miani, Deputy Chairman Aqal Khan, Malik Amo Jan, Madad Khan, Khan Afghan, Rafiullah, and Abdul Qahir Miani.

In a provincial press release, the party stated that filing an FIR based on “false and fabricated accusations” is a violation of constitutional and human rights, and such actions do not fall within the legal authority of the administration.

PkMAP emphasized that its workers, as well as those of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, have a democratic and constitutional right to protest against unjust, immoral, unconstitutional, and illegal actions. The statement added that FIRs cannot be registered on the basis of political slogans raised during protests, and every political party and its workers have the right to voice dissent against the government of the time.

The party said that it is the responsibility of democratic forces and their workers to stand firm against authoritarian elements and defeat undemocratic measures through political struggle.

Condemning the FIR lodged by the Harnai Police Station SHO, PkMAP demanded that the administration and higher authorities immediately withdraw the case and restore the constitutional rights of the citizens involved.
