Karachi Mayor Announces Green Line Common Corridor to Open by October 2026

Karachi – Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has announced that the Green Line Common Corridor will be inaugurated in October next year, promising improved transportation facilities for the public once construction is completed.
Speaking to the media, Mayor Wahab acknowledged that residents have faced and will continue to face some difficulties during the construction phase of the corridor, as they did with the overall Green Line project. “However, once the construction is complete, the public will benefit from enhanced convenience and connectivity,” he said.
He stated that the government is committed to opening the Green Line Common Corridor to the public by October 31, 2026. Addressing concerns about project coordination, Mayor Wahab admitted that the Karachi Municipal Corporation was not consulted at the project’s inception, but assured that joint efforts are underway to resolve all outstanding issues.
The mayor also mentioned that problems related to the Red Line project have been resolved and official work on it is expected to commence in the coming days.
