Drinking Orange Juice Daily Can Protect Against Heart Disease and High Blood Pressure, Study Finds

ISLAMABAD – A new medical study suggests that making orange juice a part of your daily routine can help protect against heart disease, high blood pressure, and other metabolic conditions.
Published in the *Journal of Molecular Nutrition & Food Research*, the study highlights that regular consumption of orange juice improves cardiometabolic health – a measure of overall heart and metabolic function. Poor cardiometabolic health increases the risk of heart attacks, strokes, fatty liver, and diabetes.
In the study, healthy volunteers were given two small cups of orange juice daily for two months. Researchers found that compounds in orange juice protect pancreatic cells from oxidative stress, enhancing insulin function, supporting metabolism, and reducing bodily inflammation.
The researchers noted that the body responds positively to the bioactive compounds in orange juice, leading to greater benefits for heart and metabolic health than initially expected. These compounds help regulate blood fat levels, control blood pressure, and reduce inflammation.
They added that eating a whole orange daily provides additional benefits due to dietary fiber, but drinking juice alone can still significantly improve health outcomes.
This research encourages incorporating orange juice into daily diets as a simple and effective strategy for better cardiovascular and metabolic well-being.
