FC Check Post at Lakpass Tunnel Relocated to Dasht on Balochistan High Court Orders

Quetta:In a landmark decision, the **Balochistan High Court** has ordered the relocation of the **Frontier Corps (FC) check post** from the Lakpass Tunnel to **Dasht**, following a long-standing demand from the people of Mastung and a constitutional petition filed by local lawyers.

The petition was led by **Advocate Hameed Bangulzai**, Chairman of Union Council Sorgaz, Mastung, with strong legal support from members of the **Mastung Bar Association**. The case was heard by a bench comprising **Chief Justice Rozi Khan Bareech** and **Justice Sardar Ahmed Halimi**.

In its judgment, the court directed that the FC check post be moved from the tunnel area to a **safe, open, and suitable location**. Acting promptly on the court’s order, the provincial government has shifted the post to **Dasht**.

The relocation has **significantly reduced road closures, delays, and inconvenience** for commuters along the Lakpass route.

Public circles, social organizations, transporters, and local citizens have hailed the move as a **people-friendly and historic step**, praising the High Court and the legal community of Mastung for their role.

Civil society representatives stated that the decision marks an important precedent for the **protection of civil liberties and fundamental rights** in Balochistan, paving the way for future judicial action on public grievances.
