New Oil and Gas Reserves Discovered in Sindh’s Mari Ghazij Field

KARACHI: New oil and gas reserves have been successfully discovered in **Mari Ghazij**, Sindh, according to **Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL)**.
The company informed the **Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX)** about the discovery through an official letter, confirming successful results from the **Ghazij CFB-1 well**.
Drilling at the site began on **September 12**, reaching a total depth of **1,195 meters**, where hydrocarbon-bearing zones were encountered.
According to MPCL, the well has yielded **305 barrels of crude oil per day** and **3 million standard cubic feet of gas per day**, with a **wellhead flow pressure of 225 psi**.
The company further stated that **Mari Petroleum holds 100 percent ownership** of the Ghazij CFB-1 well.
This discovery marks another step forward in Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to enhance domestic energy exploration and reduce reliance on imported fuels.
