No Blackmail from Violent Groups Will Be Tolerated: Talal Chaudhry

Those Who Commit or Abet Crimes Will Face Consequences, Says Minister of State for Interior

Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior, Senator Talal Chaudhry, has declared that the government will not bow to pressure or blackmail from violent groups, asserting that those involved in criminal acts — whether directly or indirectly — will face the consequences of their actions.

Speaking on a private TV program, Chaudhry said the state would not yield to any form of coercion, emphasizing that both those taking the law into their own hands and those conspiring behind the scenes will be held accountable.

He noted that the recent incidents involved groups attempting to challenge the writ of the state. “The government’s message is clear: anyone who commits a crime or facilitates one will have to face justice,” he added.

The minister revealed that the demands of these groups included the release of individuals arrested in cases of murder and other serious crimes — demands the government deemed completely unacceptable. During recent raids, authorities recovered millions in cash, gold, and 70 luxury watches, exposing the personal motives behind these activities.

Chaudhry further stated that these groups made no demands related to Gaza or humanitarian causes, focusing solely on protecting their wealth and avoiding arrest. He reaffirmed that the government would not allow any group to impose its will through illegal pressure or violence.
