MQM to Raise Issue of Halted Development Schemes with Prime Minister

KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Pakistan has decided to take up the issue of halted development schemes with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after the Sindh government directed the Pakistan Infrastructure Development Company Limited (PIDCL) to suspend its ongoing projects across the province, including Karachi.
According to *Express News*, MQM has warned that if the federal government fails to intervene and ensure the resumption of PIDCL development projects, the party will announce its future course of action, which may include protests.
Senior MQM leader Aminul Haque confirmed over the phone that a party delegation had already met Federal Housing Minister Riaz Pirzada in Islamabad and expressed serious concerns over the matter.
The MQM has adopted a strong stance against the Sindh government’s decision, vowing to raise the issue in the National Assembly and on all relevant forums, while also considering legal options.
The party’s delegation is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif upon his return to the country to formally present their demands.
