Balochistan CM Orders Completion of Approved Schemes by January to Ensure Public Welfare

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has directed all departments to ensure the completion of approved development schemes by January so that the benefits of public welfare projects can timely reach the common man.

He issued these directives while chairing a high-level meeting on the implementation of the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Monday. Provincial Ministers Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, Mir Saleem Khan Khosa, Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, and administrative secretaries of all departments attended the meeting. Additional Chief Secretary (Planning & Development) Zahid Saleem gave a detailed briefing on ongoing projects.

The Chief Minister appreciated departments showing progress but expressed displeasure over delays in some sectors. He emphasized that the Green Bus extension project must be completed by October, noting that the procurement of new buses has been finalized and will arrive at Karachi Port in the second week of October. He further directed that both Green and Pink Bus services be made operational within October to provide modern transport facilities, including a dedicated service for women.

Bugti also announced a plan to provide electric bikes on easy installments to working women, reaffirming his government’s commitment to empowering women economically and socially.

Regarding the upcoming budget, the CM instructed that all proposed schemes receive technical approval by May to avoid delays in budget preparation. He stressed that timely completion and strict quality monitoring of development projects would be ensured through the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team.

“The top priority of the provincial government is to ease the difficulties of the common man. All departments must adopt public service as their mission and play an active and responsible role,” Bugti added.
