South Africa Announce Squads for Pakistan Tour Across All Formats, New Captains Named

Lahore – Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced the squads for their upcoming **tour of Pakistan**, which includes **2 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 3 T20Is**. The series will be played from **October to November 2025** across Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad.

CSA confirmed that regular Test captain **Temba Bavuma** has been ruled out due to a calf strain, with **Aiden Markram** stepping in as captain for the red-ball series. Spinner **Keshav Maharaj** will only be available for the second Test as his rehabilitation is not yet complete.

In the white-ball formats, **David Miller** has been named T20I captain, while **Matthew Breetzke** will lead the ODI side in an interim role.

The big news for fans is the return of **Quinton de Kock**, who retired from ODI cricket after the **2023 World Cup** but expressed a desire to continue in white-ball formats. Following the **2024 T20 World Cup**, de Kock has now been included in both the ODI and T20I squads.

This will be Pakistan’s **first series of the new World Test Championship cycle**, with South Africa arriving on **October 7**. The Test squad will hold a short training camp in Pretoria on **October 5–6** before departure.
