Flood Situation Worsens at Kotri Barrage as Indus River Water Inflow Rises

Lahore/Hyderabad:Water inflow at **Kotri Barrage** in the Indus River has increased further, with authorities reporting a **medium-level flood** as discharge rose to **360,000 cusecs**, according to the Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) Lahore.
Meanwhile, water levels at **Guddu and Sukkur barrages** are gradually receding. Currently, Guddu is witnessing a discharge of **268,000 cusecs**, while Sukkur has recorded **310,000 cusecs**, both categorized as **low-level floods**.
At **Naushahro Feroze**, a major flood wave passed through the Indus River, causing breaches near **Kandiyaro**, which allowed floodwaters to enter **Bakhri town**. As a result, **multiple homes and shops were submerged**, while water also entered **government primary and middle schools**.
Officials confirmed that **445 villages in 16 union councils** of the district have been affected, forcing the **evacuation of over 15,000 people** to safer locations.
Separately, the **Sutlej River** continues to flow in **medium flood** at **Ganda Singh Wala**, while **low-level floods** persist at **Head Islam** and **Head Sulemanki**.
