JI Balochistan Condemns Alleged Abduction of UC Chairman’s Son, Urges Authorities to Ensure Protection

Quetta – Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan, in a provincial press release, strongly criticized what it called the government elite and state institutions’ weak and flawed decisions, which it said have led to a worsening trend of abductions and enforced disappearances of youth and volunteers.
The statement said these practices have deeply damaged the social and family fabric of society. The latest example, it claimed, is the abduction of **Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Qalandrani**, son of **Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Qalandrani** and chairman of Union Council Tutak, Khuzdar, Balochistan. According to the press release, he was taken from his residence at Sunset Boulevard Road, New P\&T Colony, Usman Residency, near Altamash Dental Hospital in Karachi at around 1 a.m. on August 18.
The party further stated that Mir Yousuf’s father, Sardar Ali Muhammad Khan Qalandrani, has already faced severe hardships due to his balanced approach in performing his duties, with three of his sons previously subjected to enforced disappearances.
Jamaat-e-Islami urged both provincial and federal authorities to take immediate notice, ensure the safety and protection of youth, and provide security to the Qalandrani family. The statement emphasized that safeguarding citizens’ lives is essential to restore social and communal peace.
