Lahore: The Flood Forecasting Division has reported a sharp rise in water inflows at major barrages on the Indus River, with varying levels of flood threats across Sindh and Punjab.

Despite repeated warnings, residents of katcha (riverine) areas have refused evacuation. Authorities have begun strengthening protective dykes with stone pitching to prevent breaches.
Meanwhile, in Punjab’s rivers:
* **Chenab River** at *Head Panjnad* is showing a decline, with inflows recorded at **333,000 cusecs**, though a *high flood* remains.
* **Sutlej River** is facing *medium flood* levels at **Ganda Singh Wala** and **Head Islam**, while **Head Sulemanki** is witnessing a *low flood*.
* **Ravi River** has returned to normal conditions.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, urging katcha residents to evacuate as flood peaks move downstream in Sindh.
