PTI to Hold Public Rallies in September on Instructions of Party Founder: Barrister Gohar

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has announced that the party will hold public rallies in September, following the directions of the party’s founder. He said the responsibility for organizing these rallies has been assigned to Ali Amin Gandapur.
Speaking to the media, Barrister Gohar criticized the ongoing disqualification of PTI lawmakers, stating that despite repeated appeals, the political crackdown has not ended. He emphasized that the PTI founder is imprisoned for upholding the Constitution and the supremacy of the judiciary and that he envisions an independent judiciary for Pakistan.
Gohar highlighted the devastating impact of the recent floods in Punjab, affecting 4,000 villages and 4.2 million people. He lamented that the Punjab government has yet to announce any relief measures for the victims.
He further accused the Election Commission of acting unfairly by issuing notices and de-notifying PTI members without hearing them. “Unlawful punishments were handed down,” he said, warning that if political tensions are not resolved, the state and economy could face serious threats.
The PTI chairman said the party is striving to strengthen the parliamentary process, but doors are being closed on them. He reiterated the need for judicial independence and called for an end to pressure on judges.
“Even judges are now expressing that they are not being treated fairly,” he added, mentioning that appeals against the 26th Constitutional Amendment have been filed and must be taken seriously.
