Over Rs120 Million Worth of Narcotics Seized in Nationwide Anti-Smuggling Operations

Rawalpindi: In a series of nationwide anti-smuggling operations, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) seized drugs worth more than **Rs120 million** and arrested nine suspects, including an Afghan national and a woman.
According to an ANF spokesperson, the crackdown against drug smuggling—particularly around educational institutions and major cities—resulted in the recovery of **over 200 kilograms of narcotics** valued at Rs123.6 million. Cases have been registered under the **Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997**, and investigations are underway.
### **Operations Near Educational Institutions**
Near the **Chenab Toll Plaza in Gujrat**, a woman was arrested with **4.32 kilograms of heroin** and **400 grams of ice**. In another operation near a university in **Farooq Azam Colony, Attock**, a motorcyclist was caught with **600 grams of hashish**. The arrested suspects confessed to selling drugs to students.
### **Other Major Seizures**
At **Jinnah International Airport**, authorities intercepted a passenger bound for Riyadh and recovered **13,000 Xanax tablets** (1.99 kilograms) concealed in sweet boxes. In **Karachi**, a courier parcel destined for the UK was found to contain **1.62 kilograms of heroin**.
In **Lahore’s Amir Town**, ANF officials recovered **990 grams of ice** from a parcel bound for Australia, hidden by soaking small fabric pieces in the drug and stitching them into shoe linings.
At a **courier office in Chaklala Garrison, Rawalpindi**, 14 grams of weed were found inside toys shipped from the United States. Near **Kamra Road, Attock**, **2.59 kilograms of heroin** and **2.1 kilograms of ice** were recovered from a vehicle, leading to the arrest of two suspects, including an Afghan national.
On the **Hazara Expressway near Thakot**, **14.4 kilograms of hashish** were seized from a car and two suspects were detained. In **Quetta**, at **Lak Pass Toll Plaza**, **5 kilograms of ice** were recovered from a vehicle, while at **Western Bypass Hazarganji**, officials confiscated **86 kilograms of heroin** and **80 kilograms of hashish**, arresting two more suspects.
All recovered drugs have been sealed as evidence, and further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the smuggling network.
