Heavy Rains Forecast in Karachi Today and Tomorrow, Urban Flooding Risk Warned

Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast **heavy monsoon rains in Karachi today and tomorrow**, warning of potential **urban flooding** in low-lying areas.
According to PMD spokesperson Anjum Nazir Zigham, the **deep depression** is currently centered over Sindh’s **Tharparkar district** and is expected to weaken into a depression over the next 18 to 24 hours while moving west and northwest towards central Sindh.
Under the influence of this system, rain spells are expected to continue intermittently from today until **September 10** in **Karachi, Shaheed Benazirabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Jamshoro, Thatta, and Badin**.
Heavy downpours may cause **urban flooding** in Karachi and other districts of Sindh. As the system shifts towards Balochistan, continuous rains could raise the water level in **Hub Dam**, while flash flooding is possible in the **mountainous areas of Dadu**.
The PMD also warned that **winds between 60–70 km/h** may accompany rainfall in Karachi due to the depression.
Authorities have advised citizens to take precautionary measures to avoid accidents and damage during the heavy rainfall.
