Aliya Khan’s Son Arrested Over May 9 Violence, Says Minister of State for Interior

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has revealed that the son of Aliya Khan was present alongside Hassan Niazi during the violent incidents of May 9, and was arrested based on concrete evidence.

Speaking on Geo News’ morning show *Geo Pakistan*, Talal Chaudhry clarified that the government is not targeting the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) as a political party, but rather focusing on individuals who broke the law. He urged PTI leadership to distance itself from those involved in unlawful activities.

“The police gathered evidence and arrested those responsible. Aliya Khan’s son was seen with Hassan Niazi on May 9, and action was taken accordingly,” he stated.

Regarding political reconciliation, Chaudhry mentioned that the Speaker of the National Assembly has offered a platform for a “grand dialogue” involving both the National Assembly and the Senate. “If PTI truly wants a dialogue, they should accept the Speaker’s open offer,” he added.

In response to a question about by-elections following the disqualification of PTI members, Talal Chaudhry assured that the government will respect the public’s decision in the upcoming polls.

This statement comes amid ongoing legal and political turmoil following the May 9 riots, which led to widespread arrests and heightened tensions between PTI and the government.
