Achakzai Calls for National Unity, Constitutional Supremacy to Avert Crisis

ISLAMABAD/QUETTA:Chairman of the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party and head of the “Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aeen Pakistan,” Member National Assembly Mahmood Khan Achakzai has emphasized that the core agenda of every patriotic Pakistani – including political leaders like Imran Khan – should be the supremacy of the Constitution, establishment of parliamentary authority, and democratic governance based on the will of the people.
Speaking to journalists in the Parliament’s press gallery, Achakzai urged all political parties to come together and agree on a new charter comprising a few key points to save the country from further destruction. He reminded parties such as PML-N, PPP, JI, and JUI-F of their past slogans and ideologies rooted in democracy, social justice, and constitutional rule.
> “Enough damage has been done. It’s time to unite and strike a new national agreement. We are not against any institution, including the judiciary or the armed forces, but we will oppose any judge, general, or political leader who steps outside the limits defined by the Constitution,” he stated.
Achakzai strongly criticized the exploitation of Pakistan’s natural resources, warning that the current approach was pushing the country toward internal conflict. He said that ethnic groups such as Pashtuns, Baloch, Seraiki, Gilgiti, and Punjabis were not asking for charity, but merely demanding their rightful share in the blessings of their homeland.
> “This land is rich in resources, yet we are among the poorest nations. The way powerful entities are attacking our mineral wealth is a recipe for civil war,” he warned.
He added that bloodshed-based decisions shake the very foundations of a country and must be avoided.
Looking to the future, Achakzai warned that if mistakes continue, Pakistan may become a battleground for global powers.
> “Russia, China, India, Israel – who knows who else is eyeing our region? If we fail to act wisely, this region will become a field of destructive conflicts, and nothing will remain,” he cautioned.
Achakzai concluded by saying that Pakistan can only prosper when democratic rule prevails, and all state institutions operate strictly within the framework of the Constitution.
