Monsoon Rains Claim 20 Lives in Balochistan, PDMA Confirms

QUETTA:At least 20 people have lost their lives and 8 others sustained injuries during the ongoing monsoon rains across Balochistan, according to a report released by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA).

The report reveals that the fatalities include 11 children, 5 women, and 4 men. Among the injured are 5 men, 2 women, and one child.

The worst-hit areas include Duki, Zhob, Ziarat, Musakhel, Khuzdar, Loralai, Lasbela, and Kohlu, where the heavy rains have resulted in tragic losses of life and significant property damage.

PDMA further reported that 11 houses were completely destroyed while 67 others sustained partial damage due to the downpours.

Authorities are continuing relief and rescue operations in the affected regions, while residents have been advised to remain cautious and follow safety guidelines during the ongoing monsoon season.
