Heavy Rains Disrupt Air Traffic Across Pakistan, Dozens of Flights Delayed or Canceled

The heavy rainfall across several cities in Pakistan has caused significant disruptions in the country’s air traffic operations. As a result, numerous flights have been delayed, and some have been canceled or rerouted to alternative airports due to the severe weather conditions.

According to airport sources, **three flights** were diverted to alternate airports, while **three flights** were canceled. In addition, dozens of other flights experienced delays.

Among the affected flights, **Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)** flight **PK-734**, coming from Paris to Lahore, had to be diverted to **Multan** due to weather-related issues. Similarly, a **private airline’s flight 674** from Karachi to Islamabad had to return to Karachi after encountering poor weather conditions shortly after departure. Another private airline’s flight, **ER-852**, en route from Jeddah to Peshawar, was diverted to **Lahore** because of the bad weather.

### **Flight Delays Breakdown:**

* **Islamabad Airport:** 26 flights were delayed by **1 to 7 hours**.
* **Karachi Airport:** 16 flights faced delays ranging from **1 to 5 hours**, and **7 flights** between Karachi and Lahore were delayed by **1 to 10 hours**.
* **Lahore Airport:** 12 flights were delayed between **1 to 14 hours**.
* Additionally, flights from **Peshawar, Skardu, Quetta, Multan, and Sialkot** were also impacted.

The ongoing weather disturbances have severely affected the punctuality of flights, leaving passengers facing significant inconvenience. Airports are working to manage the situation, but travelers are advised to stay updated on flight schedules.
