Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Denies Speculation on Presidential Change, Reaffirms Stability Focus of Field Marshal Asim Munir

Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly denied rumors regarding a potential change in the presidency, specifically dismissing the notion of Field Marshal Asim Munir becoming the President of Pakistan.
In a statement issued on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Naqvi stated that there is no truth to the claims circulating about President Asif Ali Zardari’s resignation or Field Marshal Asim Munir assuming the presidency.
Naqvi emphasized that these rumors are part of a targeted campaign, adding that the sources behind it are well-known. “We know who is behind this misinformation campaign targeting President Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Field Marshal Asim Munir,” he said.
The Interior Minister clarified, “There has been no discussion regarding President Asif Zardari’s resignation, and there is no idea or proposal for Field Marshal Asim Munir to become the President of Pakistan.”
Naqvi went on to underline that President Zardari shares a strong, respectful relationship with the leadership of Pakistan’s armed forces, particularly Field Marshal Asim Munir.
He further asserted, “I know who is spreading these lies and why they are doing it. I also understand who stands to benefit from this propaganda.”
In conclusion, Naqvi reaffirmed that Field Marshal Asim Munir’s sole focus remains the stability and strengthening of Pakistan, with no interest in any presidential ambitions.
