Train Fare Hiked Again as Diesel Prices Soar

The Railway Department has increased passenger train fares by 2%, marking the second fare hike within two weeks.

Earlier, on June 18, fares were raised by 3%. According to the Railway Department’s notification, the new fare increase will take effect from July 4.

Railway officials explained that rising diesel prices have caused severe financial losses for the department, making the fare hike unavoidable.
